Miro Chair with armrest

The chair, the supreme discipline of designers! This one is called 'Miro' and is a design by 'Horgenglarus' from the 1950s, which has been subtly modernised by Hannes Wettstein.

By the way, 'Horgenglarus' is the oldest chair and table manufacturer in Switzerland and has an enchanting workshop at the foot of the Glärnisch in Glarus, where I was allowed to peek in.

The modern 'Miro' is characterized by its beautiful lines, which shine especially in detail: The legs of the solid wood chair are angular on the outside and rounded on the inside, and the seat tapers elegantly towards the back line.

Another beautiful detail is the bulge in the seat, the same as on the 'Classic' by 'Horgenglarus'. This is made of moulded plywood. You can now have 'Miro' fitted with a seat cushion for that extra bit of comfort. Seat frame, feet and back are made of steam-bent solid wood.

A wonderful no frills piece with beautiful lines and lots of craftsmanship, available in a choice of woods.
