Adriano AG was founded in 1998 by Adrian Iten, known to everyone only as Ädu. The idea: fast food doesn't have to be bad and coffee doesn't have to be thin. A hopeful start-up in difficult times and in an industry with a dubious reputation. Even a major bank was involved. The small bar and the small AG turned out to be a great success.
In the meantime, in addition to their own coffee roastery, you can also buy the super-simple coffee machines from 'Adrianos', which - unlike other pad machines - can be operated not only with their own compostable pads, but also with many commercially available ones. Just pay attention to the pad diameter.
The fact that the almost unfashionably angular design is named 'The Else' is, of course, an allusion to a certain competitor with a greyish heartbreak ad. Unlike the mega-corporation's machine, Aedu's model is made by family-owned Sirp in Cuneo, Piedmont. Adrian roasts the beans at 'Adrianos' in his own café bar, and has the pods packed by Blaser Café in Bern.
